Starbucks City Mug Aruba
Previous

Aruba (pronounced /əˈruːbə/) is a 33-kilometre (21 mi)-long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, located a mere 27 kilometres (17 mi) north of the coast of Venezuela. Together with Bonaire and Curaçao, it forms a group referred to as the ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles, the southern island chain of the Lesser Antilles.

Aruba, which has no administrative subdivisions, is one of the three countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, together with The Netherlands and The Netherlands Antilles. Aruban citizens hold Dutch passport. Unlike much of the Caribbean region, Aruba has a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. This climate has helped tourism as visitors to the island can reliably expect warm, sunny weather. It has a land area of 193 square kilometres (75 sq mi) and lies outside the hurricane belt.

Where will this Mug be available? IS it really Aurba on the Islands in southern America?

shugal   19 Feb 2010

Yes, it's Aruba, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located a little north of Venezuela, South America. When you check the Starbucks Store Locator you'll find Aruba listed as separate country, which reflects its political status (Aruba, while part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is not part of the European Union and does not use the Euro but a separate currency).

This is the first mug (c)2010 I've seen so far. SKU# 1196894. Unfortunately my mug broke in transit. :-(

I've created a panorama picture of the Aruba mug. You can see my mug is broken on the bottom, but the seller is going to send me a replacement. :-)
