This ist the new, second version of the Berlin-mug (red bear). This mug is a little bit larger and the motive, the bear has a darker red.

I checked my Berlin mug again and it turns out I have a so-called 2nd generation Berlin bear mug instead of the 1st version (which I thought I had) (#1085). I wouldn't be surprised if many collectors have that. If you have both, check the bottom. May be there is a difference with regards to the producer. My Berlin mug is made by Rastal.

I have a Berlin mug that was designed by Jan Belson and made in Thailand, copyright 2002. I THINK that it is a 1st generation.

The big difference is the elbow on the letter B, you can spot it immediately even on EBAY without asking the seller.
the old version's elbow can be seen insibe the letter B.
