Puerto Vallarta is an artsy enlclave - lots of public modern art, like this statue of a seahorse that's become something of an icon on the edge of Banderas Bay downtown. Street vendors set up here and it's a popular meeting spot, as well as a good place to get your bearings for a walking tour around downtown Puerto Vallarta. Stroll east on the malecon and rest at the zocalo while admiring Our Lady of Guadalupe's cathedral steeple, drop into Hilo for a drink or Las Palomas for a fish taco (don't let the maitre d' monopolize you with talk of timeshare sales), or east to Fredy Tucan's for breakfast and over the Cuale into the Municipal Mercado for shopping, Daiquiri Dick's for lunch or Senor Frogs for a beer in a setting reminiscent of the pub you love in your college town.

You must notice the time frame as to when I'll be gone then. No Olympics for me! Well I might check out Van on the Wednesday when I'm back but I am getting outta here! :)
lucky you! the traffic is getting worse day after day due to the Olympics and I live near by GM place and Olympic Villege =( I guess I have to ride a bicycle everytime I go out soon lol
I got what I wanted from it. Olympic hoodie and a shirt. Its like a one night stand! :) So did they remove the Starbucks mugs from Mexico because I read somewhere about the images on them and such.
I can not find this mug! I've been to the two starbucks here and all they have is the blue one (2009?) with the large lettering. We asked the Barista if they had the one with the sea horse and he said no.
classic_queen, if they do it in Mexico the same way they did it in Germany, they will not release the 08 style mugs before the 94 style mugs are (nearly) completely sold out. The first German 08 style mugs showed up around May 2009 on eBay (probably by someone working at the factory), but I didn't see any in shops in Germany before September.
classic_queen, I was in Puerto Vallarta 2 weeks ago and the 08 icon has not been released yet. All you will find is the 94 Style 16oz Made in Mexico 2009.
There are only 4 starbucks there: 1. The one downtown, near the cathedral, 2. the one at the airport, 3. One in Galerias Vallarta Mall and 4. one at the Peninsula Shopping Center. but I repeat, all you will find is the 94 Style 16oz
Martin (shugal) I really don't understand why 08 icon is not available yet in Puerto vallarta. I don't think they will wait until 94 style mugs are sold out because they just release a new 94 Style 16 oz Made in Mexico 2009, so they are brand new.
In Mexico City they used to have both styles in stores (before the problem with the government) so I think they will have both available soon.
