Starbucks City Mug Sharm El Sheikh - Red Sea Reef

Sharm el-Sheikh which means Gulf of Sheikh or Old Man's Gulf - city and resort in Egypt, in the southern Sinai Peninsula bordering the Red Sea Riviera consisting of many smaller bays, just 80 kilometers south of Mount Sinai. The city is situated between nature reserves and national park of Ras Mohammed. The population is about 35 000 permanent residents. The basis of Sharm el-Sheikh economy is tourism - water sports such as diving and snorkeling. The tourist infrastructure is developed there at a satisfactory level: hotels and restaurants, several large international networks, including golf courses and many other recreational facilities.

Coral reefs are underwater structures made from calcium carbonate secreted by corals. Coral reefs are colonies of tiny living animals found in marine waters that contain few nutrients. Most coral reefs are built from stony corals, which in turn consist of polyps that cluster in groups. The polyps are like tiny sea anemones, to which they are closely related. Unlike sea anemones, coral polyps secrete hard carbonate exoskeletons which support and protect their bodies. Reefs grow best in warm, shallow, clear, sunny and agitated waters. Often called “rainforests of the sea”, coral reefs form some of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. hey are most commonly found at shallow depths in tropical waters, but deep water and cold water corals also exist on smaller scales in other areas. The existance of 3rd most beautiful coral reef in the world made Sharm el-Sheikh a place full of tourist attractions.
