Shijiazhuang is located in Hebei Province. It is the provincial capital. Also it is one of the most important hubs of the railway and the chief base of the textile industry. It is 3.3 thousand square kilometers in area. The population is 2.9 million. In the west of Shijiazhuang is the hilly country of Taihang Mountain. This part occupied forty percent of the area. In the east, is Hutuo River Plain. The part occupied sixty percent. Shijiazhuang has a monsoon climate of semi-moist in warm temperate zone. The annual average temperature is 12.9 degree Celsius. The annual precipitation is 550mm. And the Blackfrost period can last 220 days. The west mountain area, abounds in mineral resources. Mainly, there are coal, iron, lime, marble, spar and asbestos.

Zhaozhou Bridge - Above the Xiaohe River of Zhao County, Hebei Province, about 15.53 miles from the southeast of Shijiazhuang City, designed and built in the Daye period (605-618 A.D.) of the Sui Dynasty (581-618 A.D.) by renowned constructor Li Chun, Zhaozhou Bridge is the earliest and best-preserved open-spandrel stone arch bridge now in existence. It is also called Anji Bridge, the name bestowed by Emperor Zhezong of the Song Dynasty (1085-1100 A.D.), meaning ensuring people safe lives and aiding people. Designated by the State Council as being among China's foremost protected monuments in 1961, Zhaozhou Bridge was also selected by the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) as the twelfth "milestone of international civil engineering" and a bronze monument was presented by the ASCE.
