Nagoya is a city in the Chubu region of Japan.

In the olden times, it is the home of the powerful warlords of Japan namely: Oda Nobunaga (related to the Japanese olympic figure skater Nobunari Oda), Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu

Presently it is the home of Toyota Motor Corporation, Noritake Factory and the Nagoya Castle with the Kin no Shachihoko. Kin no Shachihoko is a symbol on the roof of the castle depicting 2 golden fish and is known as the symbol of Nagoya and is pictured here in the mug.
