Starbucks first entered the European market in 1998 through it's acquisition of UK based Seattle Coffee Company, founded in 1995 by two Americans Scott and Ally Svenson. This 3oz demitasse and saucer set was released around about that time. The Seattle Coffee Company chain has continued it's operations in South Africa since 1996 where it operates 85 stores as of January 2018.
