The Coffee Connection, a chain of coffee stores which first opened in Boston's Harvard Square in 1975, was purchased by Starbucks Coffee in 1994 and run as a separate entity up until September of 1996. In the end there were 18 stores that eventually changed their name to Starbucks. This rare mug was offered in The Coffee Connection stores. Both sides display The Coffee Connection logo. The base has a black rubber pad affixed.
