Bulgaria, officially the Republic of Bulgaria, is a parliamentary republic in Southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south and the Black Sea to the east. It is Europe's 15th-largest country. Bulgaria's location has defined it as a historical crossroad for various civilisations and the home of some of the world's most ancient cultural artifacts.
Rosa damascena, more commonly known as the Damask rose is a rose hybrid, derived from Rosa gallica and Rosa moschata. Further DNA analysis has shown that a third species, Rosa fedtschenkoana, is associated with the Damask rose. The flowers are renowned for their fine fragrance, and are commercially harvested for rose oil (either "rose otto" or "rose absolute") used in perfumery and to make rose water and "rose concrete". The flower petals are also sometimes used directly to flavor food or to make tea and are considered safe for human consumption. national flower of Bulgaria.
